El látex sintético emula una pantalla de piel. El concepto de piel como frontera con el mundo externo la posiciona como protagonista del intercambio entre el universo audiovisual y el espectador de la obra. La retroproyección de las imágenes permite virtualmente traspasar la bidimensionalidad de la pantalla y sumergirnos en un mundo interior cada vez más profundo, donde podemos identificar conceptualmente tres estadíos: una primera etapa superficial que nos introduce a la materialidad primera de la epidermis; un traspaso hacia el interior del cuerpo para navegar por el líquido plasmático; y desembocar en un pasaje metafórico hacia un tercer estadío onírico, donde la densidad de la sangre se equipara con la liviandad del correr del agua, que reinicia el ciclo de la trayectoria desde el exterior hacia el interior de nuestro viaje.
Synthetic latex emulates a skin screen. The concept of skin as a border with the external world positions it as the protagonist of the exchange between the audiovisual universe and the viewer of the work. The rear projection of the images allows us to virtually go beyond the two-dimensionality of the screen and immerse ourselves in an increasingly deeper inner world, where we can conceptually identify three stages: a first superficial stage that introduces us to the first materiality of the epidermis; a transfer to the interior of the body to navigate through the plasmatic fluid; and lead to a metaphorical passage to a third dreamlike stage, where the density of the blood is equated with the lightness of running water, which restarts the cycle of the trajectory from the outside to the inside of our journey.
El montaje de la obra se propone sumir al espectador en una experiencia sensorial introspectiva. La oscuridad del espacio en que la instalación habita, la música que se acopla al discurrir de las imágenes con una vibración casi gutural que nos aísla de sonidos externos, y la convivencia de la pantalla con su propio soporte: un contenedor de líquido espeso y rojo que evoca el denso fluir de la sangre e invita al espectador a acercarse físicamente a la obra, como queriendo internarse en sus profundidades.
El fluir constante de reacciones en PLASMA evoca al proceso natural de transformarnos para resurgir y trascender más allá de nuestra propia piel, afirmándonos constantemente que somos materia en movimiento.
The staging of the work aims to immerse the viewer in an introspective sensory experience. The darkness of the space in which the installation lives, the music that is coupled to the passing of the images with an almost guttural vibration that isolates us from external sounds, and the coexistence of the screen with its own support: a container of thick red liquid that evokes the dense flow of blood and invites the viewer to physically approach the work, as if wanting to delve into its depths. The constant flow of reactions in PLASMA evokes the natural process of transforming ourselves to resurface and transcend beyond our own skin, constantly affirming that we are matter in motion.
